I've been doing good so far but by July I know I will go on a binge of buying hair products. Plus, it'll give me time to read some reviews on the products.
Now there are a few accessories that I have that make my wash day super easy. I've been trying to figure out how I made it without them. I've talked about one before but I'm going it again along with the others.
Q-Redew Handheld Hair Steamer

But seriously I don't know where I would be without this contraption. I saw it a few times while on IG but I ever really looked into it, but around Christmas I started seeing it more and more. So finally I was like let me see what all the fuss is about. This handheld hair steamer is to "help quickly and naturally rejuvenate, enhance, hydrate, add moisture, detangle, stretch the hair, and more". It can be used on wet or dry hair and all you have to add is just water. Before I got it I was thinking I could add some oils or something to it, but the directions tell you to ONLY ADD WATER. If not, then it will mess it up and the steamer will not be covered in the warranty. It's super easy to use and it's ready to use in less than 3 minutes.
How do I use it? I use it hydrate, add moisture, and detangle my hair. Before I style my hair, I spray water all over my hair and add a leave-in conditioner. I then part my hair into four or more sections. I add a little oil to the section and then run the steamer through that section. This helps to detangle my hair, add moisture, and helps to penetrate the products deeper into my hair. After that I add my styler and braid, twist, or roll my hair. I do this for each section. This steamer has made it so much easier to detangle my hair. I'm "tender headed" as they say so I really can't stand doing anything to my hair. It seems to melt the tangles right away so it has helped me to prevent breakage. It did not work for me when I tried to rejuvenate my curls. Steam/water only makes my 4a/4b hair shrivel right back up and I'm back at square one.
I've seen some ladies on IG section their damp hair and apply deep conditioner to each section and use the hair steamer to detangle the hair and it also helps to penetrate the deep conditioner (and oil if there is any added) into the hair. I have not tried this yet but I plan on trying it during my next wash day.

For years, when applying a deep conditioner or a conditioner at home I never added any heat. Now when I would go to a salon, the beautician applies a conditioner or a deep conditioner and then sits me under the dryer. I absolutely hate sitting under the dryer. I read on several other blogs how adding heat can increase the amount and effectiveness of absorption. So I was about to give in and buy a hooded dryer, until I stumbled across the Hot Head cap.
It works by popping it in the microwave for 45 seconds. Then flip it inside out and repeat. To give it a little more heat, I repeat the previous step. Then I put a plastic cap on, put the Hot Head cap on, and let it do its thing. While my protein treatment, deep conditioner, or conditioner is doing it's thing, I am able to fold clothes, cook, play with my baby, hang upside down...hell just do whatever I want. In about 15 minutes I have to re-heat it but that's not an issue because it's so much better than sitting under a dryer and banging my head against the rim of it because I'm sleepy. So thank you to the creators of this masterpiece!

This little thing was not my favorite at first. My friend Jai (shout out to Ladybug's Big TT Jai) sent this to me in the mail right after Thanksgiving. I couldn't wait to use because usually when I put my hair into a ponytail I stretch a thin headband, wrap it around twice, and slide it back until I get my curly puff as large or small as I want it.
At first I felt like this thing was the devil. I don't like reading directions so I ditched those as soon as I opened the package (big mistake). I hold as much of my hair into a ponytail as I can and then I tried to put the PuffCuff on. Ya'll that thing was so tangled up in my hair. My homegirl called me on FaceTime right as I was struggling with it and I answered the call. She started asking me all kinds of questions about what was hanging from my hair and why. This seemed to tickle her so I hung up on her because I was in no mood to be childish. I thought I was going to have to cut my hair so I was in tears. I finally go that thing out and threw it under the sink. I went back to read the directions so I would know just what I was doing the next time I tried to use it.
It wasn't until this past March that I picked it up again. Needless to say I haven't put it down since. It's so easy (now that I read the instructions) to use and I don't have to worry with the headband being too tight. I usually use it on about day four or five with a perm rod set because at this point my curls are starting to look a little deformed. This is truly an accessory that I enjoy using...now that I've read the directions.
That's it for this post. I think I need to lay down and catch up on some shows. Well no, actually I might as well go to sleep because in 5 minutes the tv will be watching me (as my grandmother used to say). Please feel free to share your favorite hair accessories! 😘
Amazing post!!!!!!!
