Braid Out 5/1/17

What I'm becoming to find out is that I prefer to do my hair in a perm rod set every time.  I'm not sure why but that's the case.  I think because with a perm rod set I can make my hair super full on day one or as the days go by my hair will naturally become really full looking.  I really have been messing around with my hair just to do something that I haven't done in awhile; hence the twist out and now braid out.  Plus I have too many products that I need to use.  Braid out just doesn't sound right to me but that's what it's called.  Go figure.  Before ya'll even look at my pictures below, just know that while being natural an ugly process is involved.  Anyway, for this post I'm going to give you all the step by step directions of how I did my braid out.  Soooooo, here we go.

Water, The Mane Choice Ancient Egyptian Anti-Breakage & Repair
Antidote Oil, The Mane Choice Daily Moisturizer & Sealing Cream,
The Mane Choice Daily Restorative Spray, TGIN Green Tea Super Moist Leave-In
Conditioner, Nouritress ER Edge Repair, Q-Redew, Denman brush, alligator clips,
grey perm rods
  1. Part hair into four sections.
  2. Apply & massage The Mane Choice's Hair Growth Oil (not pictured--I forgot to stick it in there) onto scalp in each section.
  3. Spray water onto hair.  Apply leave-in conditioner and oil.
  4. Detangle and rehydrate section with Q-Redew hand-held steamer.
  5. Spray an even coat of Daily Restorative Spray.  Apply a quarter-sized amount of Daily Moisturizer & Sealing Cream.
  6. Make 6-7 braids BUT ONLY BRAID HAIR HALFWAY.
  7. Roll the loose ends of each braid with a perm rod.  I roll the ends because I don't really like he ends of my hair straight.  But when I do a braid out on dry, stretched hair I don't like the ends rolled.
  8. Repeat steps 1-6 for the remaining 3 sections.
  9. Let hair air dry overnight.  I let mine dry 2 days because I didn't really have anywhere to go this week.
  10. Remove perm rods and apply TGIN Argan Oil (not pictured--I forgot it) to hair and unravel the braids.  Fluff & go!
My hair after using water, leave-in, oil, & my Q-Redew
Step 5 - Hair braided only halfway

Step 6 - Roll loose end with perm rod
Finished for the night!
After 2 days of drying...looking like Miss Celie
And again...
Unraveled, separated, & fluffed!
Check back later this week as I talk about this week's wash day and products.  I'm actually excited for wash day because I have new products to try!  Yes, I know I said I wasn't buying anything else right now BUT Sally's has quite a few brands buy one, get one free.  I went in to get some OPI polish for Ladybug's toes this summer and ya'll know I ended up on the natural hair product aisle.

Feel free to leave me some comments! 😊
