Regular Conditioners and Leave-In Conditioners

I had to take a short break to regroup and figure out what direction I was going in with my blog.  As I stated before, I'm no expert when it comes to natural hair.  These posts are a combination of me doing my own research and finding out what works best for my hair.  There are active links in each post so that way you don't have to search hard for the products if you wish to try them.  I know everyone might not benefit from reading this but my hope is that I can at least encourage and help someone with natural hair.
I also keep saying how much patience it takes.  Some days I want to just snatch all this damn hair off my head!  Just like I've been putting off washing my hair for three days now.  I am just too lazy to put the time in to do my hair.  Plus my back has been on a stupid level of pain lately so it hurts to bend over so that I can wash my hair in the sink.  I've read it's better to wash your hair in the shower anyway.  It's best so you can tilt your head backwards instead of forwards in the sink.  I don't care to wash my hair in the shower because I don't like shampoo and conditioner all over me.  But anyway, my plan is to cover conditioners in this post.  That's if I can hear myself think with my husband snoring loud as hell over there.  I want to take Peppa Pig and hit him in the face but I'm too lazy to get up.  Plus I don't want to waste my jelly beans.

Daily/Regular Conditioners

Much like deep conditioning, regular conditioning of the hair is super important.  Conditioning should be done after washing your hair every time because it can minimize damage and breakage.  Conditioners are intended to smooth and strengthen strands by repairing and protecting the hair shaft.  Most daily/regular conditioners are only meant to be left in for about 3-5 minutes.  There are some that can stay in longer.  I use the word daily because conditioners can be used daily if you are one of those people who wash your hair daily.  I know some naturals who was their hair daily because they say that's the only way that can deal with their hair.  More power to them because I don't have the patience to fight with my hair daily.  Below are my favorite conditioners to use right now.  I use one of the below conditioners each time that I wash my hair and yes even when I deep condition my hair I still use a regular conditioner.  I also use my Hot Head cap (details in previous post) to apply heat for those few minutes that the condition is in.

Leave-In Conditioners

From my understanding, leave-in conditioners and regular conditioners are somewhat the same.  They both can be used daily, help with frizz, strengthen, and condition the hair.  They can both make the hair easy to detangle as well.  Leave-in conditioners are formulated lightly and they serve as a barrier while the hair is detangled and styled.  Below are a list of my favorite leave-in conditioners.

What are your favorite conditioners?  Check back because my next post will be on my favorite oils! 😀
